Calling your 800 number and nobody answers.
Instant Checkmate - Background Reports Pickens County Sc Review
Expunged criminal records still appearing for people I know. I contacted authorities and they said those records were sealed and should not be appearing on public sites. Checkmark does not update or correct records.
Instant Checkmate respone is unacceptable to SPAM issue
I am still receiving SPAM generated from the CheckMate inquiry. 86 pieces of *** since 11/29.
the Spammers took the holidays off. It has been over 10 days please cease and desist this fraudulent email assault. I will resume forwarding every piece of *** that you send to my inbox back to yours until this stops. And no, I will not click the unsubscribe link in each piece of junk.
I don't click links in *** emails. And I will read every little letter on a website so I don't get burned like this from SPAM front companies like yours again.
It is companies like yours that will lead to legislation of the Internet. Thank you for your prompt resolution of this matter.

Like another reviewer, I wanted to look up an old friend for fun. Got to the pay part and decided an iffy contact wasn't worth $37.
So I opted out. SPAM after SPAM after SPAM - 60 per day or so. Unsubscribed from Instant Checkmate I think.. but they want you to unsubscribe from each SPAM email.
UH huh. So I block the sender but I also forward all of the emails back to instant checkmate.
I also doubt the service they say they provide. BE less hassle to let Facebook collect my data for for profit with no profit sharing next time I want to find an old friend!

Unauthorized bank withdrawals
I've noticed that at least since May 2016, a "recurring debit charge of $24.85 has been withdrawn from my PNC account.
I do NOT know what this is for, who the company is that's withdrawing the money, and how to contact them.
I DO know that the charge reqads:

$24.85
I'm a 75 year old retiree - my money is important to me. Can you please help me locate this company or person so I can notify my bank? If this is a legitimate charge I would appreciate hearing from the concern doing it. Or...I can notify my bank to make no further withdrawals.

I need to investigate about my exwife's criminal records. Here name is:
Diana Patricia Mira Jimenez, born in Yali Colombia on Feb-02-1968. She moved 1987 illegal to the US. I meet her in 1988 and she gave birth to our daughter Anthonella on Dec-13-1989 in Miami. In 1990 she was arrested in Miami for drug dealing related charges. I need any possible lead (arrest records and/or documentations, police report, mugshot etc.) that can be used as proof of her criminal history. Therefore I contacted instant checkmate. After providing this information on their website, they promised 48 different "possible hits". After rendering payment - no records found!
After this extremely negative experience I tried to cancel this useless subscription - it didn't let me, and the "service" phone number is constantly busy!
After researching several hours online I finally found this website (pissed consumer.com) to get help....What a scam!!!
I guess I learned my lesson the hard way!

After writing this review, their customer service contacted me. I followed up with them with a longer more specific account of what happened and informed them I was planning on sending this letter and review to the BBB.
The customer support services staff responded saying they will reimburse the full amount I had been charged by them. I am satisfied with the final outcome.
I do however find it dishonest to consumers to only provide reimbursements to people who have to resort to complaining here or to the BBB. The matter should be taken care of at the first contact with the company themselves.
I opened an account and tried it out, there was nothing pulled up from the site that was better than using a basic search site like Google. I pulled reports on myself and other immediate family members, the information was incorrect, or did not exist, but info pulls up from google search.
The website had a costumer satisfaction guarantee blurb on the website in april/may 2015. I contacted the company to close my account and told them I was very unsatisfied with the service, the information it provided as well as the ease of use for the site itself. I thought that my account had been refunded and canceled. Now, June 2016 I see that I have been billed monthly since it opened in 2015.
I called them immediately and they have no record of my phone call, complaint or cancelation. I was on the phone for 28min, they could not find any record of my earlier contact, would not refund my entire account, they said they could not see if I've used account or not so cannot refund based on non use after I canceled account. I then said I want a refund based on not satisfied with company/site etc. they said the information is not guaranteed.
I reaffirmed that the website/ company has a satisfaction guarantee, this is beyond what information is provided. After several back and forth with a supervisor I was told they can refund me 6 months of charges, but no more at all. While I spoke to the two representatives there was laughing and other staff talking, this was at the same volume as the person I was speaking with, not the far distant noises you might hear from a call center. I am still unpleased with the end result, I did not feel comfortable with laughter in the background, I want to assume it was not regarding my phone call, but it was very unsettling.
I don't know why their system has an error of not processing my cancelation over a year ago.
At the end of the call the supervisor just hung up the phone, there was no confirmation number, no additional info, nothing. I don't trust that I'm getting any refund, and am shocked by the level of unprofessionalism.

Instant Checkmate Background Check Review from Mountain View, California
I attempted to use this service to conduct background checks on individuals with a potential criminal history. First, I was required to supply my credit card information, which I did, however, after being registered with their service and supplying my credit card information I was informed the credit card did not go through, and that I needed to contact my bank directly to authorize the charge, which I did...my bank said they authorized the charge (I actually stayed on the line until it was authorized); STILL could not access the product. Called their 1-800- help number again, explaining the situation, and was patronized by twenty something call center employees which had a difficult time understanding that although they retained my credit card information, I still had not received access to their services. After an hour an a half, I was told that their services "platform" is not compatible with mobile devices, I suggested that that information should be clearly stated, marked, or identified prior to supplying your credit card information. Was further debased when I was told they would not delete my credit card information...absolutely ridiculous, does their COO know this? I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and will find a more reputable company to conduct background checks. Buyer Beware, especially if utilizing a mobile device to create an account.
Why do I have to pay in order to see a report.
I don't really like it how I just wasted, what like 10 minutes on my laptop, waiting for this *** folder thing to be ready to check. It really does *** me off because I just want to be able to like check the report without having to enter my credit card number and billing address.
This really does *** me off because I was really looking forward to the report. It just sucks that people have to pay for it. It should be free and maybe people will start coming on it more often.
I mean, who wants to pay? No one does so it should be free.

I reviewed my own name just for the heck of it, and it provided completely inaccurate information. I proceeded to purchase the PREMIUM version, and again, totally inaccurate (I should've known)!
It claimed I had an 'alias name' (HA!), and said I'd lived at addresses that I'd never even been to in my life. Total waste of money. SO frustrating! And it showed pictures of a bunch of different people claiming it was me?
Oh and provided a phone number, email addresses and relatives that aren't mine...
Total mistake to purchase, don't rely on this information! I wish I would have checked reviews before I made the commitment.

You should contact your bank. If the charge is not yours you don't need to contact the company, the bank will take care of that.
And the bank SHOULD credit you back the money even while under investigation, however if they determine the charges are yours they'll redebit your account.
This looks familiar to me. It looks like one of those companies that do instant background checks on people?
Some just have a one time charge, others charge a recurring money fee until you cancel. Try googling the text showing up on your bank statement and see if it comes up with anything you might recognize.
